La secreta de Franco

The Secret Life of Franco's Political Police Brigade during the Dictatorship Pablo Alcántara delves into the history of La Brigada Político-Social, the "true Praetorian Guard" of the dictatorship, by examining previously unseen evidence from the personal files of its key agents, investigation reports, court documents, and interviews. This comprehensive study sheds light on the Brigade's connections with intelligence agencies like the Gestapo, CIA, and FBI, as well as its notorious torture techniques against anti-Franco activists. The book also explores what became of the Brigade's agents after Franco's death, when they suddenly transformed into "democratic" police officers without facing justice for their actions during the dictatorship. Alcántara's work provides a detailed analysis of this complex and often disturbing period in Spanish history. Through meticulous research and investigation, Alcántara brings to light the previously hidden story of La Brigada Político-Social, revealing its inner workings and the consequences of its activities.
