Description
The Story of La Nueve: A Forgotten Chapter in History In 1936, a group of young Spanish republicans joined the fight against fascism, unaware that their experiences would shape the course of history. This book tells the story of La Nueve, a company of shock troops from one of the most famous units of the Second Division Blindada, led by General Leclerc. La Nueve was formed almost entirely of Spanish republicans, mostly anarchists, who had been fighting for their country's freedom since they were teenagers. Nine years later, on August 24, 1944, these men would become the first to liberate Paris from German occupation, having fought against four dictators: Franco, Hitler, Mussolini and Salazar. This book brings to life the adventures of La Nueve, shedding light on a previously overlooked chapter in history.
