Description
La nave de los necios by Sebastián Brant is a seminal work of German literature from 1494 that had a profound impact on European literature. Its success led to the creation of a new literary genre and influenced prominent writers such as Erasmo. The book depicts a shipload of foolish, mad, and sinful individuals on the verge of sinking. This satire targets not only the nobility but also ordinary people, critiquing society's disconnection from medieval values. The text features over 100 satirical passages that remain relevant today. This edition is the first to be translated into Spanish, offering the original text alongside the accompanying xilographies, many of which were created by Albrecht Dürer, renowned German artists.
