Description
Liudmila Pavlichenko's memoirs offer a unique perspective on one of the most pivotal moments in history. In 1941, she left university to join the Soviet army and became one of the most skilled snipers of World War II, claiming over 309 enemy lives with her rifle. After being injured in combat, Pavlichenko was sent on missions of propaganda to Canada and the United States, where she participated in numerous press conferences and events. These experiences not only showcased her remarkable skills but also provided a platform for her to share her story and connect with people from different backgrounds. Through her diaries and these memoirs, Pavlichenko reflects on the uncertainty and personal struggles of war, including her relationship with fellow soldier Alexei Kitsenko, who would later become her husband.
