Description
Kindertotenwald Prose Poems is a genre-bending collection of prose poems that explore themes of childhood, adolescence, and adult awareness. Pulitzer Prize-winner Franz Wright's most intimate thoughts and images are presented in dramatic and spectral short narratives.
The book delves into the continually unfolding loss of childhood and the mixed blessings that follow it, drawing on a range of influences including haiku master Basho, Nietzsche, and St. Teresa of Avila. Through his writing, Wright seeks to narrate his way through the dark wood of his title, following the crumbs of language.
With its strong presence of drama in every line, Kindertotenwald Prose Poems pulls readers deep into a journey of self-discovery and exploration. The result is a deeply personal and thought-provoking collection that invites readers to reflect on their own experiences and emotions.
