Description
Kamwendo is a collection of stories and legends from the past, passed down through generations in British Central Africa. The author shares these tales, which were told to her by the elderly, with the hope that they will be preserved for future generations.
The main story of Kamwendo is one that the author heard firsthand, as it was shared with her by someone who had a unique perspective on the early days of a Christian mission. The book explores the tension between old customs and new ways of living, highlighting the importance of learning from the past while embracing change.
Through these stories, the author sheds light on the rich cultural heritage of the region, revealing the complexities and nuances of traditional African life. This is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the history and traditions of British Central Africa, as told by someone who has listened and learned from the people themselves.
