A Report to an Academy by Franz Kafka has been adapted into a new stage play, Kafka's Monkey. The story follows a monkey who recounts his journey from being imprisoned in a cage to becoming a human. This adaptation is based on the original short story and features a new script by acclaimed writer Colin Teevan. The play was performed to critical acclaim at the Young Vic Theatre in 2009 and will return for a limited run from May 19th to June 11th, 2011. Kafka's Monkey offers a unique perspective on Kafka's life and work, exploring themes of identity and transformation through the eyes of an ape. This new adaptation brings Kafka's original story to the stage, providing a fresh and thought-provoking take on the author's story.
