Description
The Last Testament: A Visual Account of Seven Men Claiming to be the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. In this unique and thought-provoking work, Magnum photographer Jonas Bendiksen presents a visual and personal exploration of seven men who claim to be the long-awaited Messiah. Building on biblical form and structure, each chapter features excerpts from their scriptural testaments, offering a glimpse into their theology and demands on humanity. Through intimate portraits and personal testimonies, Bendiksen delves into the boundaries of religious faith in a world searching for salvation. By immersing himself among these individuals, Bendiksen creates an account that is both a work of apocalyptic journalism and artistic imagination. The result is a compelling and visually striking book that invites readers to consider the complexities of faith and its role in our lives today.
