Description

The Stone House on Orange Street was once a grand residence in Polchester. Although its interior has undergone significant changes, the exterior remains largely intact. The current occupants are unaware that their modern conveniences have replaced those of their predecessors. They now enjoy a gramophone, pianola, and lift, as well as a small motor garage and a rock garden where a fountain once stood. The Coles were an old-fashioned family who lived in the Stone House. Their home was typical of its time, with a mix of traditional furnishings and modern amenities. The house has been preserved to reflect its original character, with many of its original features still intact. This collection of stories offers a glimpse into life at the turn of the 20th century, as seen through the eyes of the Coles and their Stone House on Orange Street.
