Description
Jeff Koons: Lost in America brings together over 60 of the artist's most iconic sculptures and paintings, along with new productions and recently completed works. Edited by curator Masimilliano Gioni, this volume focuses on Koons' art as seen in relation to contemporary American culture.
The book features an aesthetics of abundance that remains a constant throughout Koons' career, reflecting his fascination with the intersection of art and popular culture. Through the inclusion of source materials, personal recollections, and biographical narratives by Koons himself, this publication offers an unconventional view of the artist's work and its cultural context.
Published to accompany a major exhibition in Qatar, Jeff Koons: Lost in America includes an interview with Koons by the exhibition's curator, as well as essays by Dodie Kazanjian and Sophia Al Maria. This catalog provides a unique insight into Koons' biography and the ways in which his individual history intersects with that of his country and culture.
