She spent two years potting in Japan, before returning to England with her partner Bernard. However, their plans for a life together were put on hold when Bernard returned to Cornwall, and Janet reluctantly joined him in 1956, bringing her skills as a potter to the world-famous Leach Pottery. This biography uses previously unpublished letters, notebooks, and diaries to tell the story of a pioneering potter.
