James Connolly: Irish Revolutionary

This biography explores the complex and often contradictory life of James Connolly, a key figure in Ireland's struggle for independence. From his early days as a unionist and socialist to his leadership of the Easter Rising, Connolly's career was marked by a commitment to peaceful activism and nonviolent social change.

Yet Connolly also played a pivotal role in the violent insurrection that followed, helping to establish an Irish Republic and ultimately facing execution by a British firing squad. This book provides a nuanced and balanced portrayal of Connolly's life and legacy, shedding light on the complexities of his politics and the enduring impact of his ideas.
