Description

Itálica investigaciones arqueológicas en la Vetus Urbs offers a comprehensive overview of excavations at the ancient Roman site in southern Spain. This unique location, which includes the birthplace of Trajan and the homeland of Emperor Adriano, is a key part of the country's archaeological heritage. The book focuses on one of the most significant areas of exploration: the Vetus Urbs (Old City), specifically the northeast sector where public buildings were constructed during the reign of Augustus. The authors review previous archaeological interventions in the area and present the range of materials discovered, including marble, skeletal remains, and sculptures. This volume provides a concise summary of the major milestones achieved in Itálica's excavation history, serving as a foundation for future research at this important site, which is also a significant cultural treasure of Andalusia.
