Description
The Report of Brodeck is a powerful narrative that explores the human experience in the aftermath of war. In post-war France, a man named Brodeck embarks on solitary journeys to collect data on the natural environment, while also reconstructing his own life, which was lost during the years he spent in a camp. His quiet existence is disrupted by the arrival of a flamboyant stranger, who becomes known as the Anderer. Tensions rise as the newcomer's presence upsets the balance of everyday life, and ultimately lead to tragedy. Brodeck is tasked with writing an account of the events leading to his death, but his report delivers much more than the bare facts. As he recounts the story of the community coming to terms with the legacy of enemy occupation, Brodeck's Report reveals the very limits of humanity in a thought-provoking and exceptional narrative.
