Description

Hardcover, 288 pages, English language. This collection of portraits and interviews explores the complexities of women's sexuality in Eastern Europe. Hungarian photographer Eva Szombat seeks to examine how we can become more open and accepting, and how we can overcome frustrations related to sex and trauma. Through her work, she separates shame from sexuality by making the invisible visible and asking women to share their desires and experiences. Szombat's project aims to spark a conversation about the limitations of discussing sex in certain cultures and the importance of acceptance and rebellion. By showcasing women's stories and desires through photography, she challenges societal norms and encourages self-expression. This book offers a unique perspective on the intersection of sexuality, trauma, and identity, shedding light on the often-overlooked experiences of women in Eastern Europe.
