Description

I'm New Here by Ian Russell-Hsieh is a novel that explores themes of identity, relationships and self-discovery in the vibrant city of Taipei. When Taiwanese-British photographer Sean loses his job and girlfriend, he flees to Taiwan in search of escape, but finds instead alienation and disconnection.

As Sean navigates his new surroundings, he forms a complex friendship with an older man and embarks on an affair with a local woman, all while struggling to come to terms with his past and present selves. With its fresh prose and propulsive flair, this novel takes the reader on a journey of existential self-discovery.

With its nuanced exploration of cultural identity and relationships, I'm New Here is a thought-provoking read that will keep you turning the pages until the very end.
