Description

The House of Happy Spirits is a heartwarming tale about a beloved tree and its journey to become the centerpiece of a new building. When construction starts in her neighborhood, a young girl named Lea fears that her favorite tree will be chopped down.

However, she soon discovers that the tree has been spared and will live a long and healthy life at the heart of a fantastic new building. This story introduces young readers to the idea of environmentally conscious and playful architecture, as inspired by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser's philosophy of humanity and nature sharing a harmonious partnership.

With vibrant illustrations that echo Hundertwasser's bold style, this book is a great way for children to learn about the importance of coexisting with nature. A brief biography of Hundertwasser at the end of the book provides insight into his life and work, which continue to inspire architects and designers today.
