Description
Horse Games: One Man's Search for the Tribal Horse Games of Asia and Africa
For decades, Bob Thompson has travelled to some of the world's most remote places in pursuit of his passion for traditional horse games. From the buzhashi horsemen of Afghanistan and Mongolia to the dancing horses of Mali, he seeks out the last remaining tribal horse games of Asia and Africa.
This book is a testament to his journey, covering gilgit polo, cirit, tent-pegging, and other exotic sports, as well as visits to national studs and encounters with skilled riders. A fascinating account of the world's most remote horse traditions, Horse Games offers a unique glimpse into the skills of the war horse.
