Description
Highland Ponies in Glen Prosen by Matt Limb is a photographic journey into the traditional world of Scottish ghillies and their trained Highland Ponies. The author, photographer Matt Limb OBE, had long been eager to capture the work of these unique ghillies on film. Following a chance introduction to Eric Starke, winner of the prestigious Fred Taylor Memorial Trophy for Working Hill Ponies, Matt's photographic road-trip to Scotland came into being. He spent time with Eric and his ponies, Cally & Mia, in the Angus Glens, resulting in the photographs that form the heart of this book. The book is a record of one of the remaining Scottish ghillies that breeds, trains and works Highland Ponies. With support from The Highland Pony Society, Matt Limb compiled and edited the photography to create a unique and fascinating insight into this traditional way of working.
