Jim Dine's latest drawings offer a glimpse into his unique artistic vision. This collection features dense charcoal and dripping washes, as seen in his iconic Pinocchio motif, which explores the darker side of Carlo Collodi's story. Other botanical motifs, such as thistle and catalpa tree, are also represented. In addition to these works, the book includes a portrait of Gerhard Steidl, an ambitious suite of nine drawings made by Dine in his Göttingen studio. The accompanying photographs, taken by Steidl during the sittings, provide a candid portrait of the artist and offer insight into his working processes.
