Description

Dexter J. Daley's life has been turned upside down after his testimony helped send his partner away for murder. The consequences are severe, and he finds himself without friends or a boyfriend. His adoptive father, a sergeant in the Therian-Human Intelligence Recon Defense Squadron (THIRDS), intervenes to help Dex get back on track. Dex is recruited as a Defense Agent, determined to rebuild his life and start anew. However, his first meeting with Team Leader Sloane Brodie proves disastrous. When three Humanitherian activists are murdered, Dex must navigate the challenges of working with his new team to catch the killer. As he delves into the investigation, he faces the daunting task of earning the acceptance of his partner and the rest of the tight-knit team. The case becomes a test not only of Dex's skills as a Defense Agent but also of his ability to form connections with those around him. With danger lurking at every turn, Dex must confront the difficulties of his new role and the complexities of his own identity.
