Description
Growlery conjures a world in disarray, where civic tensions simmer and the boundaries between city and country blur. Katherine Horrex's debut collection reimagines the concept of internal space in a society torn apart by change.
Hauntingly evocative, these poems explore the fragmented landscape of modern life, from the 'worn streets' of a post-Brexit world to the disquieting presence of corpse flowers in America. Horrex's unique voice unpicks the illusion of order and reveals the true complexity of our times.
Shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney First Collection Poetry Prize 2021, Growlery is a powerful exploration of the human condition in all its messy, disjointed glory.
