Description

Diannely Antigua's Good Monster is a poignant and powerful collection that explores the complexities of pain, trauma, and survival. With a unique blend of dark wit and fatalism, Antigua delves into the body as a site of chronic suffering, where anxiety, depression, and shame become overwhelming forces. Through a range of innovative forms, including sestinas, Sad Girl sonnets, and diary entries, Antigua conveys the messy reality of living with trauma. Her poetry is both deeply personal and universally relatable, capturing the struggle to find hope in the face of adversity. Ultimately, Good Monster is a testament to the human desire to keep living, even in the darkest moments. This powerful collection offers a raw and unflinching look at the human experience, one that will resonate with readers who have faced similar struggles.
