Description
Global social policy in the making by Bob Deacon explores how the Social Protection Floor became a global policy measure. This development was influenced by shifts in the global social structure, changes within international institutions, actions taken by global actors, and shifting discourses about social protection. The book examines these influences in detail, providing insight into how the Social Protection Floor came to be adopted as a global standard for access to essential healthcare and income security. It will be of interest to students of international relations, international organization, and development studies, as well as those working in global agencies. This contribution to the field of global social policy is an important analysis that sheds light on the complexities of global governance and the role of institutions in shaping social policies.
