Description
Givenness & Hermeneutics explores the fundamental question of what is given in experience. Phenomenology seeks to uncover this by applying a method of reduction, but can anything truly resist reduction? Jean-Luc Marion's work addresses this gap between what gives itself and what appears to us.
The author argues that a properly phenomenological hermeneutics is necessary to reveal the self of the phenomenon. This lecture examines the relationship between the given and its manifestation, shedding light on the nature of experience and our understanding of it.
