Description
The Epic of Gilgamesh: A Complex and Captivating Tale This Spanish translation of the ancient Mesopotamian epic poem presents a rich and multifaceted narrative that has evolved over time. Spanning over two thousand years, the story of Gilgamesh, an ancient king, has been shaped by various cultural influences, resulting in a unique synthesis of the cultures of the ancient world. The book offers a guided exploration of the Poem of Gilgamesh, tracing its development and revealing the intricate context of ritual, magic, religion, and history that underpin the narrative. This edition complements Franco D'Agostino's earlier translation of The Epic of Gilgamesh: King of Uruk (2005), published by Editorial Trotta. By examining this ancient epic, readers can gain insight into the values, concerns, and experiences of the ancient world, where heroism, love, suffering, and friendship were paramount.
