Description

George Stubbs 102 Colour Plates by Blago Kirov and Maria Tsaneva is a collection of colour plates showcasing the artist's remarkable animal paintings. Stubbs was a renowned English painter and anatomical draftsman, best known for his equine works, but also depicted a range of other animals in his art. His fascination with observation led him to travel to Italy in 1754 to reinforce his belief that nature is superior to art. The book features 102 colour plates of Stubbs' most notable paintings, including scenes of horses and other animals, as well as his historical works and studies of everyday country activities.
