Description

Architecture as a manifestation of generosity challenges traditional notions of cost and measurement in the discipline. This book explores how architecture can embody generosity through its processes of ordering and shaping space, questioning current socio-economic and political systems. The texts presented critically examine the theme of generosity in architecture from various perspectives, addressing theoretical, historical, and everyday aspects of architectural practice, procurement, and policy in a global context. A richly collaborative text, this book delves into the multi-faceted potential of generosity in architecture. By interrogating the relationship between architecture and generosity, this book offers a nuanced understanding of how buildings and spaces can represent and embody generosity, challenging readers to consider the possibilities of a more expansive architectural practice.
