Description

A Jewish youth from a small Russian town sets out for America in 1878, despite being dyslexic and unable to read or write. He faces challenges as he travels to South Africa instead of New York, but compensates with his exceptional memory. Through hard work and determination, Maimon Sokolovski finds love, endures personal tragedies, and embarks on an adventure that will take him across the world. Along the way, he becomes involved in industrializing the Transvaal Republic and forms relationships with influential figures of the time. This book tells a stirring story of humor, drama, and historical events, featuring unforgettable characters and a unique perspective on South African society.
