Description

Frankenstein Or The Modern Prometheus by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley is a gripping tale that has captivated readers for generations. Written at just 18 years old, this novel was the result of a challenge between the author and her friends to compose the most terrifying ghost story.

The story follows Victor Frankenstein's obsessive quest to create life from death, leading to the creation of a sentient being that is rejected by its creator. This tragic chain of events sets in motion a series of devastating consequences that push Victor to the brink of madness.

First published in 1831, this edition includes Mary Shelley's revisions and her introduction, as well as Percy Shelley's preface to the first edition. A powerful exploration of scientific hubris, beauty, and the human need for friendship and love, Frankenstein Or The Modern Prometheus remains a thought-provoking and haunting read.
