As Laverock soon discovers, Yudenow is not just an amusing old fool, but a despicable rogue. Laverock and his co-worker Copper Baldwin hatch a plan to teach Yudenow a lesson with hilarious and unpredictable results. This novel, first published in 1957, is thought by many to be the masterpiece of Gerald Kersh, known for its echoes of Dickens, Rabelais, and The Beggar's Opera. This edition features an introduction by award-winning novelist Michael Moorcock, adding context and insight into Kersh's work.
