Description
Rita Leistner's photography project Forest for the Trees is a powerful exploration of work and environment. Over two decades, she has documented her own experiences as a tree planter, from the early days of planting over half a million trees to her more recent immersion with a community of loggers in remote Canada. Through her lens, Leistner creates heroic portraits of individuals in challenging environments, revealing the complexities of purpose and belonging. Her work is not only a testament to the human spirit but also a nuanced examination of the impact of industrial practices on our planet. This book presents a selection of Leistner's photographs, accompanied by her own reflections on the themes that drive her practice.
