Fifteen were Scottish, fourteen English, eleven Welsh and eight Irish, with Australia and New Zealand also losing ten and two Internationals respectively, while Germany suffered nineteen losses. Each player is given an individual biography, including details of their international and club playing record, military career, and circumstances of their death.
