Description
Feast of the Ass presents a series of verses that play with love poetry's traditional address. Drawing on Iranian poetic traditions and their reception in English translation, Andrew Jahan Khajavi explores his relationship to death, literature, race, religion, and sexuality. Khajavi irreverently ruffles inherited forms to consider the poet's position within these fields. His poetry is a bold reorientation of the traditional axis, one that sets him apart from established lines of thought. This collection offers a unique perspective on love poetry, one that challenges conventions and pushes boundaries.
