Description

Instructions Within, a powerful collection of poetry by Ashraf Fayadh, is now available in English for the first time. This special edition features two original paintings by the poet on its covers and is bound right, inviting readers to consider their relationship with Arabic language and literature.

Banned from distribution in Saudi Arabia upon its initial publication in 2008, this translation sheds new light on Fayadh's work, which explores themes of identity, culture, and social justice. With its unique blend of poetry and visual art, Instructions Within is a thought-provoking read that challenges readers to reevaluate their connection to the Arabic world.

With 299 pages of powerful verse, this edition is a must-have for anyone interested in contemporary Middle Eastern literature and poetry. The English PEN has made this important work widely available, ensuring its themes and ideas can be appreciated by a global audience.
