Description
Yayoi Kusama: A Life in Art. This book tells Yayoi Kusama's story in her own words, offering a unique insight into her life and work. Born in Matsumoto, Japan, Kusama began drawing at a young age, a passion that would stay with her throughout her career. She moved to New York to become an artist, where she developed innovative ideas that stunned audiences with their originality. Kusama's art is characterized by its use of repetitive patterns and themes, as seen in her famous pumpkin sculptures and immersive installations. Her Happenings events used performance and spectacle to convey powerful messages. This book provides a comprehensive overview of Kusama's life and work, following the artist who has become an icon of contemporary art. Yayoi Kusama is the latest addition to Corraini's series on modern artists, which also includes works by Piero Manzoni, Yves Klein, Jackson Pollock, Marcel Duchamp and Lucio Fontana.
