Description
Fat Knight is a seven-movement orchestral suite by Ralph Vaughan Williams, originally conceived as an opera. Although never completed, the work features Shakespeare's Falstaff as its central character.
The only surviving version of the piece is a two-piano score, which has been realised by conductor Martin Yates to incorporate the orchestration from the completed opera, Sir John in Love.
This arrangement offers a unique insight into Vaughan Williams's compositional process and provides an opportunity for musicians to perform his music in a new light.
