Thor's Hammer, a missile-launching satellite capable of striking anywhere on the planet in seconds, is the most powerful defense system in history. However, when President Joseph Gardner uses it to attack terrorists firing missiles at Indian cities, the result is catastrophic: thousands of Pakistani civilians are killed. This devastating event sets off a chain reaction of retaliation and counter-retaliation, as Pakistan and its neighbors grant China a strategic naval advantage over America.
