Description

Evening Hymn for SAB and piano by Bob Chilcott is a serene and reflective anthem that presents an artful juxtaposition of two beautiful melodies. Originally set to William Fuller's 'Evening Hymn', this arrangement features the plainsong melody for J. M. Neale's English translation of the Latin hymn 'Te lucis ante terminum'.

Chilcott has re-scored this piece for SAB and piano, making it accessible to choirs with a limited number of male voices. This rich addition to the Choral Evensong repertory is ideal for those looking to add depth and variety to their worship services.

The result is a beautiful and contemplative work that showcases the beauty of both the original melody and the plainsong accompaniment.
