Description
Euthydemus, written circa 384 BCE, is a dialogue that satirizes the logical fallacies of the Sophists. In it, Socrates describes a visit to two brothers, Euthydemus and Dionysodorus, prominent Sophists from Chios and Thurii.
The dialogue explores the flaws in the reasoning used by these Sophists, who were known for their rhetorical skills but lacked substance. Through this conversation, Plato critiques the methods of his contemporaries and presents a philosophical argument that remains relevant today.
