Description

A harrowing tale unfolds over sixteen hours, told through the eyes of a mysterious narrator. In a small village in southeastern Turkey, tensions simmer between two communities with a long history of conflict. As the day wears on, a dust storm descends and a menacing mist settles over the village streets. The story is rooted in a true event - the May 2009 massacre of over forty people, including women, children, and infants, in a village in Mardin province. The narrative weaves together geographical complexities, tangled relations, hazy memories, and unreliable witnesses to create a story where nothing seems as it appears. Through the lens of this harrowing tale, Çi̇ler İlhan sheds light on the darker aspects of human nature and the devastating consequences of conflict.
