Description
Andrei Monastyrski Elementary Poetry A collection of early experimental work by Russian poet and artist Andrei Monastyrski, founder of conceptualism in Russia. This volume brings together poems, books, and action objects from the 1970s and 1980s, tracing the development of art actions in poetry. Monastyrski's interest in John Cage and Eastern philosophical traditions led him to experiment with sound, form, and viewer engagement. His work predates his involvement in Collective Actions, a group of artists who have organized participatory actions since 1976. This collection offers a unique insight into the early stages of conceptualism in Russia, showcasing Monastyrski's innovative approach to poetry and art.
