Description
The correspondence between Günther Anders and Claude Eatherly is a powerful exploration of guilt and alienation. In 1945, Eatherly's ordered bombing raid went catastrophically wrong, resulting in the devastating destruction of Hiroshima.
Haunted by his role in the disaster, Eatherly dedicated himself to fighting nuclear arms. However, his struggles with mental health led him to be institutionalized, and it was during this time that Anders began to write to him, capturing his story in a poignant exchange.
This book presents a unique insight into the human cost of war and the enduring power of conviction. Günther Anders' correspondence with Eatherly offers a deeply personal and thought-provoking account of one man's struggle to come to terms with his past.
