Description
Exploring the Complexities of Islam and Women's Roles Asma Lamrabet examines the often-controversial topic of women in Islam, challenging prevailing patriarchal interpretations. By contrasting traditional sources with modern analysis, she aims to debunk discriminatory arguments that have been used to justify women's subordination. The author scrutinizes 17 key issues, including polygamy, veiling, inheritance, and marital obedience, using a rigorous examination of Islamic texts and contemporary hermeneutics. This nuanced approach sheds light on the complexities of women's roles in Islam, revealing the need for a more balanced understanding. Through this critical analysis, Lamrabet seeks to rectify misinterpretations and promote a more inclusive perspective on women's rights within the Islamic tradition.
