Description
Eco-deconstruction offers a new approach to understanding the degradation of the natural environment. Building on the work of French philosopher Jacques Derrida, this volume brings together prominent scholars from various fields to address pressing environmental issues. The book is divided into four sections, each exploring a different aspect of ecological thought. "Diagnosing the Present" examines our current understanding of time and its need for deconstructive analysis. "Ecologies" argues for an originary environmentality, highlighting the constitutive ecological embeddedness of mortal life. The final two sections, "Nuclear and Other Biodegradabilities," examine the remains of human culture, including nuclear waste, environmental destruction, and species extinctions. This collection provides a nuanced account of differential relationality in a non-totalizable ecological context, addressing our times in both an ontological and normative register.
