Description

The original Alice Cooper group's astonishing run of albums over five years created the legend that endures to this day. This story is told in meticulous chronological detail, from their early days as The Spiders in Phoenix through their career-reviving relocation to a notorious party house on the outskirts of Pontiac, Michigan. Corroborating the improbable sequence of events are stories from the band themselves, explaining how they went from politely ignored pariahs in Los Angeles to international notoriety. Listen to their good-natured explanations behind the mayhem that accompanied their music, and it becomes apparent that the ghoulish makeup and stage antics were all part of a fun and playful approach. The result is a fascinating account of how one band managed to create such a lasting impact on rock music, and what drove them to push boundaries and challenge expectations.
