Description

Duplex Architects: Rethinking Housing A comprehensive look at innovative housing design in Switzerland and its contribution to urban development. This first monograph showcases the firm's approach to housing design, featuring five projects that exemplify their position on urban planning, typology research, and materiality. The book offers a detailed examination of Duplex Architects' work, with extensive documentation through images, plans, and visualizations. The firm's independent approach to design is highlighted, as well as their focus on communal living, community, and collaborative design processes. Nele Dechmann's text and Ludovic Balland's photo essay provide insight into the firm's explorations of residential architecture. Contributions from founding partners Anne Kaestle and Dan Schürch, alongside other expert authors, offer a diverse range of perspectives on the five featured projects. This monograph provides a unique opportunity to explore Duplex Architects' work in depth.
