Description

Dream Kingdom is a captivating collection of poetry by Gambian poet Tijan M. Sallah, reflecting the mystical and mythical basis for all poetry.

This selection includes poems from four previous collections: When Africa Was a Young Woman, Kora Land, Dreams of Dusty Roads, and Harrow, as well as some unpublished new works. The poet's imagination spans over twenty-five years, exploring personal experiences, family relationships, African politics, and global injustices.

The poems in this collection are deceptively simple yet richly imaginative, painting a world that is both deeply rooted in Africa and open to the influences of other cultures. With its unique blend of folklore and intellectual musings, Dream Kingdom offers a fascinating glimpse into the work of one of Africa's most talented poets.
