Description

Sherry Shriner's online cult was built on a foundation of conspiracy theories and false claims. She preached about mysterious orgone energy and Christian prayer as defensive shields against forces of darkness, including Lucifer and reptilian shapeshifters. Her followers were drawn to her message, even when it led them down a path of violence. In 2017, Sherry's follower Steven Mineo was murdered by his girlfriend Barbara Rogers, who had been falsely accused of witchcraft by Sherry. The incident proved Sherry's divinity to her followers, but in reality, it was the result of online trolling attacks that had left others dead or destroyed their lives. Journalist Tony Russo examines the cult and its leader through dogged reporting, internet chats, transcripts, and police records. This book is a detailed account of Sherry Shriner's rise and fall, and the devastating consequences of her false teachings.
