This anthology features Ambedkar's original writings, including memorandums, speeches, lectures, and talks from 1919-1956, offering a critical perspective on the concept of democracy. The editors have carefully curated these writings to provide context for Ambedkar's arguments and perceptions within contemporary debates on democracy. The introductory chapter provides an overview of Ambedkar's political trajectory and explores how his idea of democracy is deeply embedded in both colonial and post-colonial contexts. This anthology helps readers think critically about democracy, examining its societal and political dimensions through the lens of Ambedkar's thoughts.
